International Chocolate Award Silver Medal Winner!
 
This chocolate comes from the Suhum, Ghanaone region and is one of only four organic certified cooperatives in all of Ghana (2021) making this cacao quite rare since over 95% of Ghana’s cacao is uncertified.  
 
Ghana is the second-largest supplier of cocoa to the global market—cocoa beans from Ghana make up approximately twnety five percent of the global supply.
 
Each farmer in the cooperative has been educated on organic practices and is Fair Trade certified. The cooperative democratically decides how to distribute quality and Fair Trade premiums every year.
 
The amount paid to the ABOCFA cooperative for cacao beans was 43% higher than Fair Trade and Organic premiums combined (2019).
